Since 2008, the last day of February has been dedicated to raising awareness of rare diseases and their impact on patients’ lives. Rare Disease Day has grown into a globally celebrated event with close to 100 countries participating in awareness-building activities in 2017. The goal of Rare Disease Day is to improve knowledge of rare diseases while encouraging researchers and decision makers to address the needs of those living with rare diseases.
As part of Homology Medicines’ Rare Disease Day activities this year, we wanted to create a tangible reflection of our culture to stand “hand in hand” with the rare disease community in our mission to cure genetic disease. Our employees reflected on what messages they would want to share with the rare disease community and added their handprints and personal notes to murals that were officially unveiled during our Rare Disease Day event today. We invite you to read our messages and get a glimpse into what motivates the Homology team on behalf of patients.
Homology Medicines was launched with a mission to cure genetic disease. Our team is focused on developing our technology into potential treatments that can address the underlying cause of rare genetic diseases. We are unwavering in our mission, and we will continue to stand “hand in hand” with the rare disease community as we move forward together.
